‘Bit intense’ James Haskell’s wife doesn’t think he’s bullying anyone in I’m A Celeb

“I just think he had a really grumpy day.”

James Haskell’s wife Chloe has said that calling her husband a bully is a bit of an “over-reaction.”

The rugby player has been the subject of a fair amount of criticism during his time in the I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here jungle.

Over the weekend, he butt heads with Kate Garraway and Andrew Maxwell after a task James deemed he was “too intelligent” for caused rifts in camp.

Similarly, viewers have noted James’s increasingly snappy and short attitude towards other members of the camp, with many branding him a bully online.

James’s wife Chloe, however, has refuted this claim stating that her husband is basically just tired and hungry and that, overall, people do get on with him in the show.

“The people who leave will give you the inside scoop – and they have come up to me and said he’s doing really well in camp, he’s cheering people up, and they absolutely adore him,” she told Lorraine Kelly.

“I just think he had a really grumpy day.

“He was sleep deprived, he was food deprived and he was surrounded with people you aren’t necessarily friends with.”

Absolutely fair enough, yeah.

Chloe added that she thought calling James a bully was an “over-reaction.”

“I think the B-Word was a little bit intense,” she said. “All I wanted to do was go in and give him a hug and some food.”

This comes after Andrew Maxwell was evicted from the camp last night. He is the second celebrity to leave the show.

I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here continues tonight at 9pm on Virgin Media One.
