Brendan Gleeson is possibly one of the nicest men in the industry. I got to chat with him earlier this week ahead of the release of his new movie Paddington 2.
Brendan joined the second installment of the popular movie as they embarked on a new chapter in Paddington's life with the Brown family in London.
He plays Knuckles McGinty, or Nuckle's as he's inaccurately referred to in the movie.
Brendan spoke about his role as the lovable Irish character and how director Paul King has been the crucial element in the success of the movie.
We also spoke about In Bruges, as it's approaching its 10th anniversary. When Colin Farrell was asked recently what his favourite memory of the movie was, he said working with Brendan.
So, I asked Brendan the same question and he said the same. He reminisced about the first few days of filming and the fun he had with Colin. He also said that he would definitely be up for a reunion or a reboot of some form and said he would work with Colin in a heartbeat.
Here's hoping they join forces again.
In the meantime, we're lucky enough to have Brendan on board for Paddington 2, which has all the perfect elements for a light-hearted adorable movie.

The Holiday is one of the best Christmas movies I would watch The Holiday all year round if it was socially acceptable, but I try to keep my rewatches to December only. The Nancy Meyers hit is a Christmas classic and has been an all-time favourite of mine ever since 2006. Each rewatch brings something […]
Jude Law is eager to return as Graham People may not agree with me, but The Holiday is my number one Christmas movie. The festive rom-com never fails to put a smile on my face, so rumours about a potential sequel felt like Christmas had come early. Rumours about a second installment have been circulating […]
Featuring James Nesbitt as part of its cast, the film is not available to rent or stream in the Republic of Ireland yet, meaning now is the time to watch it. Our TV movie pick for tonight (Wednesday, 17 December) is The Unholylands, the 2025 Northern Irish comedy film. Described as a “nostalgic nod to Belfast […]
