Ah, god.
It’s hard not to love The Chase, it’s got everything you want from a standard daytime game show – a countdown clock, a lad of contestants who sometimes don’t know what’s going on and, of course, Bradley Walsh.
It’s a great programme, one that we tend to hold close to our hearts in terms of honesty, honour, and integrity.
That was, until, this week.
We’re all familiar with the final chase that occurs at the end of The Chase.
One of the Chasers goes up against however many contestants are left, trying to answer as many questions as possible to catch them, empty their prize fund, and send them off home with nothing.
During this particular episode, Chaser Anne Hegarty, or the Governess, was up against Peter and Warjinder who had secured an impressive £60,000 in their prize fund.
As the clock counted down and with a mere few seconds to spare, it looked as if the Governess wasn’t going to be able to catch them.
However, viewers noticed something a little odd about the speed at which the clock was counting down… and more specifically, the length of the final second.
Basically, it went on for a long time giving the Chaser more time to answer.
Sorry @itv but that final second was WAY longer than the previous ones #Fix #TheChase pic.twitter.com/e8P200ioZT

Viewers didn’t keep their “fix” theory to themselves either, they spread it all over Twitter.
Fair play.
Fuck me that is the biggest fix ever, Bradley couldn’t of read those last few questions any faster and that last second went on forever #fixfixfix #thechase

I might not have known the answer to the final question, but I know what a second is – and that wasn't one! https://t.co/pf3Vjpw3Wp

ITV has yet to respond to the accusations.
