A Clarissa Explains It All reboot is in the works and we can’t wait

Keeley Ryan

Before there was Sabrina Spellman, there was Clarissa Darling.

Clarissa Explains It All is reportedly getting a reboot – starring  none other than Melissa Joan Hart.

The original series ran for 65 episodes on Nickelodeon from 1991 to 1994 and starred the actress as Clarissa, a teen who spoke directly to the audience as she tried to deal with her problems including family, boys and school.

According to The Hollywood ReporterNickelodeon is in early discussions to reboot the beloved sitcom.

The series would see Melissa Joan Hart return to her role as Clarissa Darling – only, this time, she would be playing the mum of the family.

The original series creator, Mitchell Kreigman, is also in talks to return as a writer and executive producer.

The revival is currently in the early stages, so there’s no hint just yet as to when it will be hitting screens.

But hints that a reboot could be on the horizon have been floating around for a while.

In an interview last month with The Hollywood Reporter the actress said that she didn’t feel Sabrina the Teenage Witch didn’t need revisiting.

Adding that she felt the sitcom ended “on a really great note”, she did say there was another show she was keen to see on screen again.

She explained:

“I like the way we left Sabrina. I think Sabrina ended on a really great note, and I don’t think you want to go back and explore that.

“At the same time, I think Clarissa ended on a note that could be explored again, because it didn’t really have an ending — it sort of ended.”
