Paramount TV is to revive the 1990 film Ghost for the small screen. A Beautiful Mind's Akiva Goldsman is to be part of the series and will write the pilot.
Jeff Pinkner, who is best known for Fringe and Alias will also be involved.
Ghost was directed by Jerry Zucker and starred the late Patrick Swayze, Demi Moore and Whoopi Goldberg. The film won Oscars for Best Original Screenplay and Best Supporting Actress and received nominations for Best Picture, Best Original Score and Best Film Editing.
It’s not known yet if any of the old cast will feature in the TV series.
"We are thrilled to collaborate with Akiva and Jeff, two deeply creative and accomplished talents, on the television adaptation of this classic supernatural drama," Paramount’s TV president Amy Powell told Deadline.
