Coldplay fan on wheelchair crowd surfed his way onto stage

Incredible scenes.

What an amazing moment for a huge Coldplay fan.

No Coldplay fan that was at Croke Park on Saturday night will forget it in a hurry, but it’s safe to say that one person in attendance will never forget it for the rest of his life.

During what, by all accounts, was an amazing show, Rob, a wheelchair-bound personal trainer from Dublin, crowdsurfed through the audience to join Chris Martin on the C-Stage to perform a song Chris hastily put together about Ireland’s capital city.

After introducing Rob to the audience, Chris started to sing a song in which he described the band as “a cross between B*Witched and U2” and also, given the venue in which he was performing, reserved a special mention for “hurlers” and “the GAA”.

Rob played along on the harmonica throughout the song and together with Chris, was given a rapturous performance as the crowd launched into a chant of ‘Olé, Olé, Olé’ at the end.

What a moment and what a memory for Rob to have to cherish, safe to say he’ll be telling this story for years to come.

Brilliant to see.
