Colin Farrell’s eyebrows won big at the Golden Globes last night

Cleaned up, so they did.

Colin Farrell is a good lad.

He’s talented. He’s Irish. He’s got a fair few decent acting credits to his name including The Lobster, In Bruges, and the iconic Phonebooth.

He’s also allegedly got a set of eyebrows that’d shake you to your core.

That’s according to Stellan Skarsgård anyway, who gave the actor a random enough shout out at last night’s Golden Globes.

While accepting his award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role, the Chernobyl actor made reference to the fact that he himself has no eyebrows – but that Colin, in fact, does.

“[Director] Milos Forman said to me a couple of years ago, ‘Stellan, I’ve seen so many films with you, but I never remember your face!'” he said during his acceptance speech.

“And I realised it was because I don’t have any eyebrows! Nobody can tell if I’m angry or surprised. It’s not like Colin Farrell – you can tell if he’s angry 20 miles away!”

Indeed.

There is no direct rhyme or reason why Skarsgård – who played Boris Shcherbina in the hit HBO mini-series – decided to bring up Farrell’s brows in this particular moment.

Had he been enthralled by Farrell’s upper facial hair for an extended period of time and this moment – accepting a rather prestigious award – seemed like the most appropriate time to mention it?

Did he lose a Golden Globes based bet with Jared Harris, the forfeit being that he simply had to mention the brows on live television?

Or had he simply forgotten himself, blinded by the delight of winning Best Supporting Actor, that he suffered a brow-based Freudian slip?

We may never know the answers to the above questions, but what we do know is that Farrell’s brows are, indeed, pretty good, as per the below images.

Ian Somerhalder is shook.
