Coronation Street’s Brooke Vincent hints at a big twist in Sally’s story

Coronation Street’s Brooke Vincent has hinted at a new twist in the Sally and Duncan story as she revealed critical evidence will be found very soon.

Sally has been struggling in prison every since she was wrongly convicted for Duncan’s council money con last year.

And while her time behind bars is set to get even worse, according to Brooke, some of her loved ones are going to be really stepping up the fight to clear her name in the next few days.

The actress, who plays Sally’s daughter Sophie, told Digital Spy how “desperate” her character is to get her mum out of jail.

She added:

“Let’s face it, Sally’s really not cut out for prison life and Sophie knows they need to come up with some concrete evidence against Duncan fast.

“They’re all exhausting any avenue they can think of. Gina is desperate to put things right with Sally and I think she’s the one who’s really pulling out all the stops in a bid to show Duncan’s true colours.

“Sophie is a bit worried about how far Gina and Tim are prepared to go, but as time goes on, she gets swept up in their plans.

“Gina discovers some fresh evidence about Duncan and Sophie can’t believe it. It’s more than they dare hope for. It looks like this is the evidence they need, and Sophie and Tim are really hopeful that it’s enough to get Sally out.”

The new clue will be discovered by Gina, who decides to break into his house in search of evidence. She ends up following him as he makes a secret call in a phone box and, once he heads off, she slips into the phone box and presses redial – making an alarming discovery.

However, everyone is gutted when the police later break the news that the discovery won’t actually be enough to get Sally cleared.

Brooke added:

“Sophie’s gutted when the police say they’ve come up against a brick wall in finding the evidence Tim and Gina reported. They can’t believe that what they’ve discovered still isn’t enough.

“Sally also gets beaten up in prison and Sophie’s really worried. She tells her mum to be brave, but inside her heart is breaking. Sally’s scared and she pleads with Tim to get her out. Sophie’s devastated knowing the reality of what the police said, but it makes Tim more determined to come up with a plan.”
