Coronation Street’s Craig Tinker has not had the easiest time lately.
But things are about to get even worse for him as his on-again-off-again girlfriend, Kayla, is set to tell him who she really is next week.
Fans of the long-running soap will know that the waitress is actually the daughter of Neil Clifton, one of the men convicted following Bethany Platt’s horrific grooming ordeal.
But Kayla is convinced that her dad is innocent and has been trying to get “justice” for him – but things are just spiralling out of control, and she ends up kidnapping Bethany and leaving her tied up at her house.
A new sneak peek released by ITV shows Kayla trying to convince Craig that Bethany had been lying to him; that she hadn’t actually been sexually exploited but he people she had previously accused.
Kayla acknowledges that Nathan is a “nasty piece of work”, but asks Craig – his OCD worsening – if he’s sure Bethany had been telling him the truth.
He tries to defend his friend, but is left gobsmacked when Kayla tells him she knows for sure that at least one of the men Bethany accused was innocent.
She then produces a photo of herself and PC Neil Clifton, before telling Craig who she really is.
His reaction – as well as the rest of the drama – will unfold during Coronation Street’s Wednesday night episode.
