This is going to slap.
It's not every day that you get an episode of
Coronation Street that absolutely blows all of the other episodes of
Coronation Street out of the water.
Over the years, there's been a few.
Richard Hillman driving his whole fam into a canal was one. Phelan finally meeting a grisly end was another.
And then there's this one that hasn't even aired yet but is bound to be a 30 minutes to remember based purely on the fact that it's only going to involve four whole characters and deal with some really heavy stuff.
Really heavy.

The 30 minute special airs next week, Monday October 29, and will feature only
Ken Barlow, Peter Barlow, Daniel Osbourne, and Sinead Tinker.
The episode will take place in their home and at the Weatherfield hospital where the group will unravel some severe family secrets after Sinead collapses having been diagnosed with cervical cancer not long before.
Sinead is currently unsure whether she's going to go ahead with aggressive treatment and terminate her pregnancy, or wait until she's further along and engage in less intense treatment.
It's at the hospital that Daniel finds out about Sinead's diagnosis, having previous been in the dark when Sinead decided not to tell him.

Daniel, obviously furious, rushes over to Ken's house to demand to know why his dad didn't tell him about Sinead. There, he meets Peter and the pair have a very frank and emotive discussion about their upbringing and Ken's parenting.
William Roache, who plays Ken, has said that the episode is going to be "great."
He said:
“When Daniel does find out Ken gets the full blast of all the pent up resentment that Daniel has lurking because he was an absent father.
“It’s a great episode, drawing on their history and bringing all those things together. One of the things I love in Coronation Street is how it draws on its own history, in this case the history of Ken being a bad father."
