Corrie to introduce another dark storyline for David Platt as he stabs rapist Josh in prison

Jade Hayden

Dark, indeed.

It appears as though Coronation Street could be returning to the dark (storyline) ages, as David Platt is set for another string of deeply upsetting and questionable events.

The hairdresser is currently serving time for a crime he really did not have that much involvement in, but rather than giving him an easy enough time of it, ITV writers have decided to make his time in jail as miserable as possible.

By ensuring that he’s in close quarters with rapist Josh Tucker again – and making him stab him.

See? Told you it was grim.

The Sun reports that David will come face-to-face with Josh again while in prison.

And this time, instead of walking away from his attacker like he did previously, he’ll stab him.

The stabbing will occur during a prison riot which sees a lot of people get seriously injured – one of them being Josh, who has taunted David about the attack pretty much every time they’ve interacted since then.

Afterwards, David will call fiancé Shona to tell her what went down.

He’ll say that he doesn’t think that Josh is going to make it – but whether he actually will or not is anybody’s guess.

Shona will ask David whether he was the one who stabbed his attacker, but he apparently won’t answer, leaving Shona to wonder if the man she loves is really who she thought he was.

Harrowing scenes ahead.
