Corrie legend could be making 'explosive' return during tonight's episode
Could tonight be the night?
If you're a fan of Coronation Street (who among us isn't? Am I right, or am I right?), you will be more than familiar with the elusive, the iconic, the breathtaking Jim McDonald.
Jim was best known for hanging around with his wife Liz, doing some shady shit, and basically just causing a bit of hassle on the cobbles.
Like every decent soap character does, you know yourself.
Anyway, Jim was arrested back in 2011 for doing some of the aforementioned shady shit.
He's been in and out of the soap since then via word-of-mouth and other mediums, but tonight it's thought he might be returning to gatecrash a funeral and ruin everyone's evening.
All the lads will be attending the funeral of Aidan Connor who tragically took his own life a few weeks back.
Will Jim appear in his usual steal-the-show kind of way? Or will he decide to wait a few weeks more?
Who can say for sure?
Jim's return was already teased towards the end of Monday night's episode though so it's looking fairly likely that tonight will be his night.
Charlie Lawson, who plays Jim, confirmed the news a few months back.
A Coronation Street spokesman told The Mirror:
“Jim is such a hugely popular character. We’re delighted he is coming back for what will be a typically explosive Jim storyline.”
The 58-year-old actor revealed that soap bosses were initially keen to have him back full time this year.
“They wanted me back full time this year but I couldn’t do it as I am doing Rebus on stage, and a thriller. I’m going to film a bit but then will be back again next year.”
Sounds good to us.
Now, in fairness, a bit of speculation has gone into this so if Jim doesn't come back tonight, it won't be the biggest shock in the entire world.
But when he eventually does come back, it definitely will be.
