Did you cop this?
Coronation Street viewers were left totally confused last night when the famous theme song changed to something almost unrecognisable.
The classic theme song was played entirely by a piano making for a very different vibe for the soap and it didn’t go unnoticed by viewers.
And it wasn’t just the Corrie theme song, Emmerdale also got an acoustic upgrade for the night, throwing fans off entirely.
“Thought there was something wrong with the sound on my TV when I heard the Emmerdale and Corrie intro but apparently there’s a reason for it and all will be revealed tomorrow.”
The new Emmerdale music sounds like music for a funeral!!! All your best bits in your life in a music package!!! You may as well change program name back to “Emmerdale farm” due to the crap 1970’s style of music!!! Sort it out who ever changed it!!! Clowns!! #Emmerdale

In fact, the theme change was all to do with the eagerly anticipated John Lewis Christmas ad which is due to air on TV tonight.
The department store advert tells the story of Elton John receiving his first ever piano as a Christmas present, so the soaps featured a version of their opening tunes played only on the keys.
But it wasn’t just the soaps, apparently, every show that aired on ITV yesterday had their songs updated with a piano version for the occasion.
For those of you who have yet to see this year’s ad, it was already shared online before its TV debut tonight and it’s giving us serious chills.
