A step too far.
Coronation Street’s Michelle Connor has been eager to get even with ex-husband Steve McDonald ever since he cheated on her with Leanne Battersby.
As viewers will know, Steve and Leanne’s night of passion resulted in Leanne giving birth to baby Oliver nine months later while tragically, Michelle had a miscarriage.
Since Michelle and Steve divorced, Michelle has been seeing fellow Corrie resident, restaurateur Robert Preston, but she’s still very angry with her former partner.
Tonight saw Michelle rush into the Bistro, Robert’s restaurant, and offer him a hotpot recipe even though he didn’t appear to be particularly bothered.
Viewers immediately twigged that the recipe in question was none other than the Rovers Return famed hotpot, synonymous with the soap for as long as we can remember.

As old school fans will know Betty Williams was the first to introduce the dish to the pub’s menu and although her character has since exited the show (Betty was written out when Betty Driver, the actress who played her passed away), it’s still a trademark of the Rovers and Corrie itself.
Needless to say, fans were livid at Michelle’s decision and took to Twitter to share their thoughts.
