Corrie’s Imran Habeeb was in another major soap and we had no idea

Cathy Donohue

Corrie's Imran Habbeb

Say what?!

As Coronation Street fans will know, Charlie de Melo plays Imran Habeeb on the popular Manchester-based soap but he’s also had another recognisable TV role in recent times.

Imran, a lawyer specialising in criminal law, is Rana Nazir’s brother and has been at the centre of a major storyline in recent months involving his on-screen sister Rana and her husband Zanir.

However, as pointed out by OK magazine, he’s sure to be a familiar face with many soap fans, having previously appeared in Eastenders.

Only last year, Charlie popped up in Albert Square for a number of episodes, playing PC Jaz Jones.

As those who tuned into Eastenders last year might be aware, Jaz arrested Keegan for allegedly sexually assaulting Louise Mitchell.

It later turned out that Keegan wasn’t guilty but Jaz was the policeman involved in the case at the time.

Although he only appeared in Albert Square for approximately five episodes, regular viewers are sure to recognise him all the same.

His role in Corrie appears to be more of a long-running one as Imran first showed up on the cobbles in November 2017.

We love a little bit of random soap trivia and in case you didn’t know, Lacey Turner aka Eastenders’ Stacey Slater has two sisters, both of whom have had major soap roles over the last few years.
