A spokesperson has confirmed the positive test.

Strictly Come Dancing judge Craig Revel Horwood is currently isolating after testing positive for Covid-19.

He will be unable to join Shirley Ballas, Anton Du Beke and Motsi Mabuse at the judge’s table this weekend.

A spokesperson for Strictly Come Dancing said: “Craig Revel Horwood has tested positive for Covid-19 and is now self-isolating following the latest government guidelines.

“While Craig will not be taking part in Strictly Come Dancing this weekend, all being well he will return the following week.”

This year’s season of Strictly Come Dancing has had its fair share of absences due to Covid-19. As well as Craig, contestants Judi Love and Tom Fletcher have missed episodes after testing positive for the virus.

Cast members of Strictly are subject to regular testing to control an outbreak of the virus.

Anton Du Beke spoke about the measures on an episode of Good Morning Britain back in September.

The judge outlined how everyone is tested each week and physical distance is maintained backstage.

He explained that the Strictly bosses are strict with the measures to ensure the smooth running of the show, as well as the health and safety of all involved.

“They’re treating it as though we are sort of still in the grip of the pandemic,” Anton said. “It’s all taken very seriously and everyone’s doing exactly what they should in line with the government.

“Everyone’s worked too hard for this and everybody wants the show to work, the viewers and everybody involved in the show.”
