David Schwimmer really doesn’t want a Friends reboot, and yeah same

Jade Hayden

A wise man.

David Schwimmer has said that he doesn’t really want a Friends reboot to happen, and honestly, yeah, he’s onto something there.

The actor, who of course played Ross Geller in the wildly popular sitcom, said that he doesn’t really think revisiting the characters would be worth anybody’s time – or money.

“I just don’t think it’s possible, given everyone’s different career trajectories,” he told the Guardian.

“I think everyone feels the same – why mess with what felt like the right way to end the series? I don’t want to do anything for the money.

“It would have to make sense creatively and nothing I’ve heard so far, presented to us, makes sense.”

Schwimmer’s comments come after a flurry of excitement around a possible Friends reunion that would see the cast reprise their iconic roles, giving audiences a taste of what the six-some had been up to since the series ended.

And although certain cast members (Jennifer Aniston, looking at you) have been doing their utmost to keep the rumours of a reboot alive, it really isn’t looking all that likely, lads.

And with good reason too.

A Friends reboot would never be as successful as the original series. It wouldn’t translate.

It would be as disappointing as the vast majority of pop culture reunions are, leaving audiences sad and dismayed that their favourite series just isn’t what it used to be.

Let it die, lads.

Or just keep rewatching it on Netflix, whatever.
