Deleted scene from Fantastic Beasts features a nod to Ireland

Megan Roantree

We’d have liked to see this in the film.

If you loved Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, you’ll be very excited to see a little extra from the film.

In this deleted scene, which is featured on the DVD, Queenie and Tina sing a song about their school Ilvermorny.

Within the song, the girls give a nod to Ireland as they talk about how the school came to be.

The school was founded by Isolt Sayre who is from Ireland – Coumloughra in County Kerry, to be exact – who is a descendant of Hogwarts co-founder Salazar Slytherin.

In the song, the sisters talk about how Isolt ‘fled from distant Ireland and so our school began’.
