Filming has officially begun on the follow-up to Magic Mike but we’ve got confirmation today that one of our favourites from the original cast will not be returning.
While Channing Tatum, Alex Pettyfer and Joe Manganiello will be flaunting their perfectly toned abs in Magic Mike XXL, rumours has been doing the rounds for a while now that Oscar-winning Matthew McConaughey had yet to sign on the dotted line.
Director Greg Jacobs finally confirmed the sad news, saying that McConaughey would not be reviving his character of Dallas in the movie but added that a few new cast members have been added to the mix.
“What am I allowed to say? It’s road trip movie and put it this way, it’s different enough that once you see it you’ll understand why we made a sequel. No one will be accusing us of making the same movie twice.”
Magic Mike XXL is due to come to our screens next July but in the meantime, here’s a few pics of a very muscular Manganiello in the gym to keep you going!
