How amazing was this movie?
Clueless is an absolute classic, from the fashion, to the cast (Paul Rudd, Donald Faison) and the brilliant one-liners ‘Ugh as if!’
But even great movies are not without their faults, and we have recently discovered a big one.
If you’re a big fan of the 1995 chick-flick, you’ll remember that the main character’s name is Cher Horowitz, or so we thought. Attentive fans on IMDb noticed that within the movie, she is also referred to as Hamilton, Self reports.
In a scene which shows Cher talking to her dad Mel, she shows him her report card and the form from the school is addressed to Cher Hamilton. Later when Mel then tosses a piece of mail to the side on camera, it’s addressed to Melvin Hamilton.
It’s pretty confusing, and is likely that Hamilton was the family’s name in an early draft of the film, but the props, such as the letter and the report card, were never changed to suit the new surname.
While this major error doesn’t exactly ruin the film, it does make us wonder how the team behind it never noticed it.
Still, if there is one good thing to come out of this news, it’s that we have an excuse to watch the film again to look for these supposed errors.
