We’re in for a great Late Late tonight!

Irish CNN reporter Donie O’Sullivan is lined up for tonight’s Late Late Show.

The Irish man, who became a hit on social media after his reporting in Washington this week, will Join Ryan Tubridy live tonight.

Donie has been praised for his excellent reporting in the chaos that happened at Capitol Hill on January 6, his name was even trending on Twitter in Ireland.

RTÉ chatted with his parents, Noreen and Donal Tommy, who live in Kerry who said they were very proud of their son, but they were also worried for his safety.

Noreen said: “I was terrified. It was absolutely terrifying. I was afraid for him. I was afraid for everyone around him. But I was very proud of him at the same time.

“I was hoping he’d hold his head and remain calm, which he has always been all his life and thank God he did.” she added.

Donal, Donie’s dad said: “I was very impressed alright. He was always into microphones and talking into them as a young fella growing up. He stuck with it anyway. Fair play to him.

“I wasn’t that worried last night. Although I thought at one stage it might get a bit out of hand but he has a fair bit of experience with that Trump crowd.”

It’s not the first time Donie has had to deal with Trump supporters, Donal said. “He’s been covering a lot of Trump’s rallies. He’s well able to handle them. He says to me that once they hear the Irish accent they seem to be nice to him. It’s a bit of a safety net.”

Campaigner Vicky Phelan and HSE chief Paul Reid will also join Ryan on The Late Late Show tonight at 9.35pm.

Sure to be a good one, this.
