Don’t panic but there’s already plans for a third season of YOU

Jade Hayden

Be still our need-for-extremely-stressful-TV-show hearts.

A few weeks back, Netflix confirmed that there is, indeed, going to be a second season of YOU.

The show has been enthralling, freaking out, and confusing people ever since it dropped onto our streaming services late last December – so it’s hardly any surprise that the above information went down a treat.

While we don’t know a whole lot about the second season of the show just yet, we do know that it’s going to be based on Caroline Kepnes’ novel, the second in the YOU series, Hidden Bodies.

We also know that Joe is going to be returning to cause more heartache, horror, and genuine harrowing content as he murders more people, follows more women, and collects more used tampons, probably.

And while season two of YOU probably hasn’t even started filming yet, apparently producers and writers have already been working on a couple of ideas for season three.

Yes, really.

Producer Sera Gamble said that although nothing has been finalised, there have been ideas floating about for the third season that is “so exciting that people talk about it in the (writer’s) room every day.”

However, she told Cosmo that a third season all rests on whether the fans enjoy season two.

“Absolutely it could come back for season three,” she said, “First of all, it’s up to the powers that be. We hope that a lot of people will watch the show and that it gets to continue.

“I will say that we have an idea for season three that is SO exciting that people talk about it in the (writer’s) room everyday. So my fingers are crossed… I’ll just say, I hope we get the chance to keep making the show.”

Us too, girl.

Us too.
