Spielberg’s Dreamworks is ending partnership with Disney.

The deal which was struck in 2009, means that Dreamworks’ productions (such as Saving Private Ryan and Gladiator) are distributed and marketed by the Walt Disney Company.

However, according to the Hollywood Reporter, the deal will expire in August 2016 and will not be renewed.

Spielberg’s adaptation of Roald Dahl’s children book The BFG which is set for release in 2016, will reportedly be the final film released under the partnership.

Reports claim that Dreamworks are set to do a deal with Universal instead.

Ouch.
