This Kilkenny shop has very angry message for Ed Sheeran fans

So just 'don't' break them, okay?

Darragh Berry

No banter allowed.

Ed Sheeran mania has already begun. Tickets for his Belfast, Cork, Galway and Dublin concerts are going on sale Saturday, 8 July and some people have been queuing for almost 70 hours in advance.

The queues can become absolutely mental. Hundreds of people will take to the pavement in their sleeping bags in order to make sure that they get their hands on a golden ticket.

As excitement builds, people might start getting a bit too loud and as they purchase their tickets, they might forget to bring home their sleeping bags or items they had with them on the street, leading to a big mess.

Well, you won’t get away with that in this shop in Kilkenny.

The self-proclaimed, ‘happiest little record shop in the world’, Rollercoaster Records, has had bad experiences in the past with people queuing for Ed Sheeran tickets and they will not be letting history repeat itself this time.

No queues before 6pm Friday and no reports of antisocial behaviour between 6pm Friday and 9am Saturday morning.

If either rule is broken, no one will be getting tickets and everyone will have to resort to the (gulp) internet.

The notice on the shop door reads:

“Due to disgraceful behaviour by some individuals, the disruption to surrounding businesses and the disgusting state that Kieran Street was left in after the queue for the last Ed Sheeran concerts, we are not allowing any queue to form until after 6pm on Friday 7 July.”

The poster goes on to explain that:

“If anyone attempts to start a queue before this time or there are any reports of antisocial behaviour between 6pm on Friday and 9am on Saturday, we will refuse to sell any tickets and everyone can try their luck online.”
