Emilia Clarke on sex scenes: ‘People f*ck for pleasure – it’s part of life!’

She obviously feels very passionately about it.

There’s no denying it… Game Of Thrones is a sexy show.

On top of being violent and magical and epic and expansive, it is also pretty sexy.

That is simply a side-effect of having some very beautiful people working on the show, with Emilia Clarke, Kit Harrington, Lena Headey, Jason Momoa, Sophie Turner, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Natalie Dormer and loads more besides, depending on your individual preferences.

However, the show does have a way of corrupting that sexiness, by having sex scenes involve siblings or (spoilers?) cousins.

One of the accusation constantly levelled against the show is that it is little more than boobs and blood, with sex and violence just for the sake of it.

While it is a hollow issue with the show, it is one that the Queen Of Dragons is completely fed up with hearing.

Emilia Clarke has been involved in more than her fair share of the nudity and sex scenes with Game Of Thrones so far, having previously told TV Insider that “In drama, if a nude scene forwards a story or is shot in a way that adds insight into characters, I’m perfectly fine with it. Sometimes explicit scenes are required and make sense for the characters/story, as they do in Westeros…”

However, while talking to Harper’s Bazaar, the issue came up once again, Clarke had the following to say on the topic:

“I’m starting to get really annoyed about this stuff now because people say, ‘Oh, yeah, all the porn sites went down when Game of Thrones came back on.’ I’m like, ‘The Handmaid’s Tale?’

“I fucking love that show, and I cried when it ended because I couldn’t handle not seeing it. That is all sex and nudity.

“There are so many shows centred around this very true fact that people reproduce.

“People fuck for pleasure – it’s part of life.”

Maybe now that is finally dealt with, hopefully, she can refocus on more pressing matters.

Like the fact that for the first time ever, Emilia Clarke is up Best Lead Actor at the Golden Globes next year, and she’ll actually be going up against her own co-star Kit Harrington.

Let the Game Of Globes begin…
