Many people try out different jobs and professions before they find their niche.
It’s hard to decide on one profession for the rest of your life, especially for those just finished their Leaving Cert or starting their college courses.
Earlier this week we heard of what career path Patrick Swayze almost took before he went into acting which surprised us all.
The latest random career news which has been uncovered is that Emily Blunt originally wanted to follow a very different career path to the one she currently owns – acting.
Emily first came to prominence by appearing in iconic film The Devil Wears Prada as the neurotic Amanda who we know and love but the actress recently admitted that had she not gone into acting, she was destined to be a pop star.
According to SMH, the 33-year-old explained how she dreamed of being a singer when she was younger.
“I was 18 and I was just, well, you know, I was 18. I was at that stage of my life where I was like, ‘Who cares, yeah, maybe; that sounds cool’. Everything sounds cool other than being in school at 18.”
Before finishing school, she got an agent who recommended acting to Emily, who was ready to try anything.
“I said, ‘That would be great, sure, I’ll give it a go’.”
While she was getting started in acting, she also signed a recording contract and even cut a demo to try and break the music industry.
Emily spoke of why she was turned off the music industry and stuck with acting.
“But then I got terrified and pulled out because I felt they were wanting me to be like Britney Spears…
“And I was like, ‘I can’t dance, and I don’t sing like Britney Spears’. I just felt it was snowballing too fast and it wasn’t ultimately what I wanted to do.”
VERY interesting indeed.
