It makes sense!

EEEEEEEEEK.

Although there are over three months to go until we finally get to see the live-action Beauty and the Beast film, the countdown is officially on.

After the first photos from the film, starring Emma Watson as Belle were released last week, the internet went into meltdown over the yellow dress we remember from watching the animation on repeat.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, the publication that obtained exclusive shots of the film, Emma went into detail about her vision for Belle.

The 26-year-old, who has campaigned extensively for women’s rights within her role as a United Nations Goodwill Ambassador, said that she sees her as an ‘active’ princess.

Costume designer Jacqueline Durrant, who worked closely with Emma to recreate the gown, explained:

“In Emma’s reinterpretation, Belle is an active princess. She did not want a dress that was corseted or that would impede her in any way”.

“It was important that the dress was light and that it had a lot of movement”.

When chatting about the dress, Emma explained that the scene where Belle dances with the Beast wearing THAT dress transports the audience to another world.

“The scene that I wear that dress in, and I have that dance in, it really tells the story of Beast and Belle falling in love.

“You know, we don’t have a huge amount of time in the story to tell that story. The dance, for me, is really where the audience starts to see it happening and starts knowing that it is happening.

“This is total, blissful escapism. You are transported to another world”.

Okay that’s it, can it just be March 17th already?!
