After murder, multiple attempted murders and kidnapping his aunt, it looks like Emmerdale viewers have seen the last of Lachlan White.
For now, at least.
Wednesday night's dramatic episodes saw the recently-returned Rebecca White expose
all of her nephew's evil crimes - including, well, her kidnapping/almost murder.
And it's given the police the evidence they need to send him away for a very, very long time.
Thomas Atkinson, who has played Lachlan for the last four years, confirmed that his character's reign of terror has ended.

In a farewell message after the episode, he said:
"So, after all this time, after everything Lachlan has done, it's all finally caught up with.
"For the last four-and-a-half years, I've kinda grown up here. That's the way I see it. I've figured it out — I've spent a quarter of my life here, which is a long time…
"The fanbase has been amazing. They've shown me support."

And while Lachlan may soon be behind bars, that doesn't mean he won't be back at
some point.
Atkinson continued:
"Will he be back? I don't know.
"You'll have to ask the soap gods about that. I mean, he's not dying.
"He's going to prison. There could be a trial. You know, we don't know? We'll have to see!"
