An Emmerdale icon is returning after 17 years and she’s about to cause some drama

It's been a while now since Emmerdale brought an iconic character back to cause a bit of drama. Well, they did bring Kim Tate back a few weeks ago and a load of stuff went down and she nearly killed a load of people but whatever, we're past that now and in the market for a new iconic character to return. And in this case, it's going to be Mandy Dingle so, you know, things are about to get heavy. Or they won't get heavy at all and she'll return and everybody'll just have a nice time but either way, she's coming back and yeah, it's going to be decent. The Woolshed barmaid will be returning for the New Year to spend some time with her ex-Paddy Kirk for a self-contained storyline - and seeing as Paddy has been in a happy relationship with Chas for a while now, things could be about to get a bit mad. Especially seeing as she's been away for 17 years. Lisa Riley, who plays Mandy, said that she "couldn't be happier" to be returning to the Dale in the new year. She said: "But mostly being back with all my old friends, it's like I've never been away." Class.
