Writing and producing a soap must be difficult. There's so many episodes, so many storylines, so many different things going on that you need to keep track of, be aware of, and allude to. It's hardly surprising then that, the odd time, storylines become a little unrealistic, pregnancies speed up by about four months, and people who have died mysteriously come back from the dead with seemingly no explanation. This is just the way soaps are. And yet, viewers tend to feel a keen sense of delight when they happen to catch a soap out for messing up a timeline or experiencing a continuity error. It brings them a sense of calm, a wonder that they otherwise wouldn't experience in their lives. Last night, it was figuring out that Jessie Dingle barely goes to school when she, of course, should be going to school. Because she works there. For the past while, Jessie has been on a mission to find out who Paddy Kirk's biological father is. She lures a man named Bear Wolf (yes) to the village and along with Marlon, tries to convince him to stick around for a bit so she can procure a DNA sample. However, despite her good intentions, viewers were decidedly unimpressed by Jessie's ability to just skip work (again).
