Did you ever question how you said ASOS?
Or wonder what it actually stood for?
Well, all your questions will now be answered.
ASOS following the viral Twitter hashtag #UnpopularOpinion tweeted to clear the air that ASOS is pronounced AY-SOS and not A-S-O-S.
#UnpopularOpinon It’s pronounced AY-SOS not A-S-O-S

However, the tweet ended up stressing people out as they questioned how to actually pronounce it. Is it AY-SOS or AY-sauce, Ace-SOS or Ass-SOS.
Hmmm.
I’ve always pronounced it Ass-os, to my friends annoyance .

I always said it as-oss because you used to be ‘AS seen on screen’ ??♀️

I hate that so much. I’m going to pronounce it ay-s-oh-s. I don’t care. Call the police. I’m not scared.

And if you ever wondered what ASOS stood for, it’s As Seen On Screen. Why? Well, when the site first launced in 2000, buying clothing online wasn’t the norm and so, seeing it on the screen ahead of purchase was “hi-tech”, if you will.
Intriguing.
