Everyone swooned for Lucy’s Golden Buzzer pick on Ireland’s Got Talent

“He’s perfect in every way.”

Viewers were left shocked and delighted when Lucy Kennedy ran down the steps to hit the Golden Buzzer on last night’s Ireland’s Got Talent.

Yes, the presenter was blown away by Limerick man Chris King and decided to send him straight through to the semi-finals as her Golden Buzzer pick.

It was a shock for many viewers who didn’t realise Lucy also had an opportunity to hit the gold button, and after all four judges had already chosen their Golden Buzzer acts.

Shock aside, audiences were delighted at Lucy’s pick who was a favourite among viewers who watched his emotional performance of Don’t Close Your Eyes.

The 29-year-old, who was born in Limerick but moved to the UK when he was four, received a standing ovation from the crowd and some of the judges, however, Louis Walsh wasn’t totally impressed.

“I didn’t think it was note-perfect, but that was fine because I think you were really nervous.”

However, Michelle Visage thought Chris’ performance was “beautiful” and “really in control”.

Well, none of that mattered in the end because before they got the opportunity to vote, Lucy stormed the stage and hit that magical button.

“I met him backstage and I really like him as a person,” she told the audience. “I love his voice and I know he’s nervous and I hear the nerves in his voice.

“But I know in my heart this boy will be in the final. I know it.”

And Lucy wasn’t the only one who was sold on Chris’ amazing talent. Twitter were 100 percent behind the singer too.
