EXCLUSIVE ‘A few changes..’ Caroline Flack on the next series of Love Island

Crazy For You hits the Bord Gais Energy Theatre, September 19.

Known for presenting our favourite binge-worthy reality shows, Caroline Flack has more recently opted for a change of pace.

Yup, she’s making the move into musical theatre with a new production, Crazy For You.

And on Monday, Her couldn’t resist the chance to pop down to the Bord Gais Energy Theatre (where Caroline will tread the boards from Tuesday September 19 until Saturday September 23) for a one-on-one chat with the 37-year-old star.

“My education was in musical theatre,” she tells us. “So for the first time I am actually using my qualification, up until now I have just blagged it the whole way!”

She continues: “I find that the hardest part of whole show is the bow, because that’s when you suddenly become you again and I get really self-conscious.”

This is her debut role on the stage, and the former Xtra Factor presenter says she’s been waiting a while for the right show to come around.

“It was important for me not to throw myself in too deep and say ‘oh I can do this,’ when I can’t – not yet anyways. I need to learn like I did on telly. You need to start somewhere small to end up where you want to be” she explains.

And of course we had to ask Ms Flack about Love Island – which proved to be the must-watch show of summer ’17: “I thought the first series was as good as the last one,” she states, “but I’m so glad we got a second series and a third because they just blew up.”

However, it seems that – lament! – rumours of a Love Island winter edition are greatly exaggerated.

Indeed, Caroline totally shot down that one, confirming that the next series “will only be eight weeks in the summer. There will be a few little changes but the format is what it is and it works.”

And after Dublin Insta star Rob Lipsett impressed earlier this year in the villa, we pressed Caroline on her personal thoughts on our fine Irish lads.

“They are charming and I do love the accent, the Northern accent as well,” she laughs (form an orderly queue, boys!).

Who knows maybe one of our fine Irish men will catch Flack’s eye when she takes to the Bord Gais Energy Theatre stage next week alongside co-star and TV actor Tom Chambers.

We can’t wait to see it!
