Our favourite actor was almost cast in Gilmore Girls

Gilmore Girls are truly a phenomenon.

Gilmore Girls fans were delighted when the show came to Netflix and even more delighted when they announced the revival. Earlier this month, fans were seriously feeling the nostalgia as a teaser for the revival was released. True fans will know many behind the scenes secrets and blunders that happened on screen however only an eagle-eyed viewers will have spotted one particular faux pas about Ireland in the show. One fact that many of us didn't know however is that Ryan Gosling auditioned for the show and almost got a part on the sitcom. According to METRO, the casting director for Gilmore Girls, Jami Rudofsky said that Ryan was the 'one that got away'. Before Gilmore Girls began, Jami met the young Ryan Gosling while he was auditioning for a different show and dubbed him "one of the most amazing auditions, to this day, [she’s] ever seen". However, when Jami called Ryan years later to audition for Gilmore Girls, Ryan somehow messed it up badly.

"‘I was so proud of myself, I was like “I found a star you guys! "And he auditioned, and it kinda fell flat. And both [showrunner] Amy [Sherman-Palladino] and [fellow casting director] Mara Casey were like, "Really, Jami?""

Yikes! We're not sure we could imagine Ryan playing any role by now, considering he's one of Hollywood's biggest actors.
