If you have not yet finished the entire season of Stranger Things 2, do not read on.
This weekend, along with celebrating Halloween, I sat back and watched the entire Stranger Things 2 over the course of two and a half days.
I’m not even sorry – it was brilliant.
However, I have a few questions about it that I’m hoping will be answered if there’s a third season of the show.
Obviously, I can’t write down all my questions from every single episode (there would be about 20 pages worth of stuff), but these are the main ones that stuck out to me:
1. Has Eleven actually closed to gate?
OK, so are we cool now? Is the Upside Down gone forever?
We see El closing the hole up (thank God) in the last episode, but then at the very end, the camera goes beneath the Earth, and there is the damn Upside Down again.
Is there another pathway? What about the pumpkin patch? Is that closed? Will the Upside Down ever be gone? Does someone else have the ability to open it up again? Kali?
2. What was with Kali?
I’ll admit, I was a bit thrown off with Kali and her crew.
As they were the opening scene of the season, I thought they might pop up here and there… but not have an entire episode surrounding them.
Don’t get me wrong, they’re cool… but were they there just to fill the void? Will Eleven go back to them and ditch her party? Will they come to Hawkins to find El? Are they good or bad?
3. Will El’s mam appear again?
If season three rolls around, one thing I hope is that El’s mam gets better.
Yep, Papa f*cked her up and it looks like she’ll be that way forever… but for El’s sake I’m hoping she comes back to consciousness and can have a relationship with her daughter.
But, will that mean El goes and lives with her? Also, is her aunt to be trusted? I have a funny feeling about her…
4. But what about Hopper?
I LOVED that Hopper kept El safe… even if it didn’t work out too well (remember, both of them were “stupid”).
However, in the scene at the end when Dr. Owens gives Hopper a paper saying ‘Jane Hopper’… does that mean he adopted El? Will she stay in Hawkins with him? Will he even allow her to go see her mother if she gets better?
OK, I know I’m totally running away with myself here… but still, so many questions.
5. Is her name Eleven or Jane now?
During the season, everyone was calling El different names…
Apparently, her real name is Jane, so after two seasons are we just supposed to call her that? It’s on the birth certificate that Dr. Owens gave Hopper so… *thinking face emoji*
But what about her friends? Will Mike call her Jane now? Hopper? So confusing…
6. Is Dr. Owens good or bad?
While he appears to be helping the Byers at first, in episode 7 he drags Nancy and Jonathan in (against their will) and basically threatens them to keep quiet about the lab.
But then, he appears to be giving info to other doctors and they don’t look too trustworthy.
However, in the end he helps the Byers, Bob (poor Bob), Mike and Hopper escape from the lab and even stays in danger so the others can run free.
But who does he work for? Does he actually care? Or is he spying for some higher power?
7. Will Steve and Nancy get back together?
Steve really impressed me this season. I honestly remembered him as this dumb, broody teenager who only came to the rescue in the last episode of season one.
Buuut, he really showed his worth this season. Not only did he help the gang wallpaper the walls of the cabin, but he kept the party safe and his advice to Dustin was sound, too.
But now that he’s no longer attached to Nancy, will he go his own way? Will Nancy hook up with Jonathan? Will the zzzdope that is Billy join the gang?
8. What is up with Billy?
So, in the last episode, we can kinda see why Billy is such a jerk. His dad is Captain Jerk and we suspect, beats him and treats him like crap all of the time.
And so, Billy takes his anger out on Max and whoever else is around him.
But, will he see through his bad ways and be a better person next season? Will he hook up with Mrs. Wheeler (it was certainly going that way)? Or will he still be his bad boy self and bully his stepsister Max?
9. Will Hopper and Joyce ever get together?
I’ll be honest, it kinda surprised me when I saw that Joyce was with Bob this season.
Don’t get me wrong, Bob turned out to be lovely and I was very sad to see him go (especially after he helped them all escape) but I feel like Joyce and Hopper are just meant to be together.
The keep each other safe. They’re each other’s rocks. And it seems like the road always leads back to them being together.
So, please, next season, can they become an item and live happily ever after?
