Netflix’s The Politician is guaranteed to be your new must-watch.
Autumn is fast approaching and when the weather turns, we’re all about cosy couch nights in with multiple blankets and hot chocolates on repeat.
Thankfully, there’s some seriously good TV coming up…in addition to the numerous programmes we still haven’t got around to watching.
Peaky Blinders returns this weekend with not one but two episodes, Sky Atlantic’s Brassic is starting soon and according to rumours, The Politician could be Netflix’s biggest series of the last twelve months.
The comedy (with a knife-sharp edge) series follows Payton Hobart, a rich student living in Santa Barbara, navigating complicated high school life.
So far, so samey but that’s where the similarities end.
You see, Payton is determined to become President of the United States one day and it’s soon clear that he’s willing to do whatever it takes to make that happen.
And we mean anything…
The cast is stellar too starring Ben Platt, Gwyneth Paltrow, Jessica Lange, Zoey Deutch and Bob Balaban among others.
Coming from Ryan Murphy, the man behind Glee, Nip/Tuck and American Horror Story, you can see why people are just a little excited about The Politician’s upcoming arrival on Netflix.
Paltrow stars as Payton’s adopted mother and as her husband Brad Falchuk co-produced the show alongside Ryan, it’s a what you might call a family affair.
Set for release on September 27, it’s definitely looking like another one to add to the long list of must-see Netflix shows.
