The first look at The Politician, Ryan Murphy’s new Netflix series, is finally here.

The eight-part comedy TV series will launch on September 27 on Netflix.

The description for the show reads:

“Payton Hobart (Ben Platt), a wealthy student from Santa Barbara, California, has known since age seven that he’s going to be President of the United States.

“But first he’ll have to navigate the most treacherous political landscape of all: Saint Sebastian High School.

“To get elected Student Body President, secure a spot at Harvard, and stay on his singular path to success, Payton will have to outsmart his ruthless classmates without sacrificing his own morality and carefully crafted image.”

Full of comedy and sly satire, Ryan Murphy’s The Politician offers a rare glimpse into just what it takes to make a politician.

The series regular stars include Ben Platt, Gwyneth Paltrow, Jessica Lange, Zoey Deutch, Lucy Boynton, Laura Dreyfuss, Rahne Jones, Theo Germaine, Julia Schlaepfer and Bob Balaban.

The Politician also stars Dylan McDermott, January Jones, David Corenswet, Judith Light and Bette Midler.

The Politician launches on September 27 only on Netflix.

And while it is the first of Murphy’s series’ to debut on Netflix, it reportedly isn’t a part of the huge deal he signed with the streaming service last year.

The first series which will be produced by Netflix as part of the deal is Hollywood.

The American Horror Story creator previously described the show as a “love letter to the Golden Age of Tinseltown.”
