Friends’ baby Emma just woke up from her nap in the greatest callback of 2020

Well the year has just begun, in fairness.

Remember back in 2003 when Friends was on the TV? Of course you do. It was a momentous occasion for all involved. Monica and Chandler were well into their marriage. Rachel and Ross still weren't together. Joey was milling about. It was all happening and we were powerless to stop it. And in one episode in particular (The One With The Cake, nonetheless), it was also baby Emma's first birthday. A seemingly inconsequential event at the time, sure, but looking back at what we know now, it may have just led us to experience the single great pop culture callback of all time. Maybe. In the episode, Monica and Chandler lament the fact that they have to postpone their trip to Vermont because Emma won't wake up from her nap to experience her first birthday. While filming a birthday message for the infant, Chandler grits his teeth and says: "Hi, Emma. It’s the year 2020. Are you still enjoying your nap?" You can surely see where this is going. Baby Emma, as we all know, was played by a set of twins at the time: Noelle and Cali Sheldon. And although the pair have continued to act - most recently appearing in Jordan Peele's horror movie Us - it appears as though Friends is something they simply cannot let go of. Much like the rest of civilisation, tbf. Noelle took to Instagram this week to share the ultimate throwback in the form of a photo of herself questionably photoshopped into Central Perk with the caption: "Just woke up from the best nap of all time, happy 2020!!" https://www.instagram.com/p/B6y9H46BE53/ An icon, through and through.
