Friends creators share their TWO reasons why a reboot will never happen

Olivia Hayes

Nooo, say it ain’t so!

We have had quite a lot of reboots in the past few years. Everything from Gilmore Girls to Will & Grace has been remade and reworked to the point where we can’t keep up with them all.

However, if there was one show reboot that we’d all be hooked on it would be Friends. We ALL want to see where Ross and Rachel are now, and how Monica and Chandler’s kids are doing.

Well, even though there have been rumours swirling for years, a remake has been totally shut down by the show’s creators Martha Kauffman and David Crane.

According to TV Guide, the pair spoke at the Tribeca TV Festival in Manhattan and said a revival will never happen – for two reasons.

Martha said: “One of the reasons we won’t do a reunion is because this is a show about a time in your life when your friends are your family. And when you have a family, that changes. But the other reason is it’s not going to beat what we did.”

David added to that, saying: “We did the show we wanted to do. We got it right, and we put a bow on it. If you visited those characters now, it just would not be the same DNA and chances are, it wouldn’t be as good.”
