Frozen’s Broadway Musical is “In the Early Stages”

We're very excited about this!

Good news Frozen fans! Directors of the Disney movie have confirmed that they’re involved in a Broadway adaptation of the big screen film.

Speaking at the BAFTA awards last night, director Jennifer Lee told reporters that the on-stage show was “in the very early stages”.

“We’re still opening the movie, we’re yet to open in Japan, so I think we’ll get busy sometimes in the late spring and start working on it.”

The film is based on Hans Christian Andersen’s The Snow Queen and tells the story of Princess Anna (Kristen Bell), who’s on a mission to find her sister Queen Elsa (Idina Menzel), who’s responsible for turning their home into a freezing winter wonderland.

No word on if some of the on-screen cast will make an appearance yet, but since Idina Menzel is already a Broadway alumni, we have high hopes!

“We’re not demanding speed, we’re demanding excellence”, Walt Disney CEO and Chairman Bob Iger recently told Fortune.
