At least we still have two seasons to enjoy.
With only a month to go before season 5 of Girls premieres on HBO, it’s just been confirmed that the show will end after season 6.
The news that Lena Dunham and the other girls won’t return after the 6th season was shared by E! News. It’s not a huge surprise considering Lena recently justified to a radio show in America why it should finish in the near future:
“It’s really exciting. I started working on this show when I was 23, and I’m going to be 30 so it kind of feels right that this show kind of sandwiched my 20s and then I go off into the world.”
Last year Lena also commented to Variety about the fate of the show saying, “I think America has a tendency to push shows past their due dates. I like the British model – in and out.”
HBO have yet to comment on this news.
