Glenda Gilson announces departure from Virgin Media
She's the latest star to leave the company.
Glenda Gilson has announced that she is leaving Virgin Media after almost 14 years.
The former Xposé host shared the news on Instagram this morning, stating that she had made the decision to leave the station but that she plans to continue working in TV.
"After nearly 14 years at Virgin Media, I've decided that I will not be returning at the end of the month," she said.
"I have so many memories that will stay with me forever – some that will make me laugh, some will haunt me forever, and some will definitely fill my heart with such happiness, especially when I think of the great people I met and worked with along the way.
"I'm certainly not turning my back on television or presenting. It's just time for new adventures right now."
Glenda is the latest star to announce their departure from Virgin in recent months.
Ireland AM's Anna Daly revealed that she was leaving the company in August. “After many awesome years reporting and then anchoring @irelandamvmtv an opportunity has come up to work with the incredibly talented team at The Communications Clinic," she said.
"This, along with the fact that my 'side-hustle' business littlebliss.com has grown exponentially and become much more than that, means I'll soon be moving on.
"Thanks to all of you who have tuned in along the way, it’s been quite the journey. I have other TV projects that I'm excited about in the near future."
Laura Woods, Aidan Power, and Matt Cooper also left their roles earlier this year. Woods' agent told RSVP that the presenter had been made redundant.
Elaine Crowley's long-running talk show Elaine was also cancelled in August. “It's with a heavy heart I say goodbye to the Elaine show," Elaine said. "It's been such a privilege and an honour to work with amazing women and men over the last 10 years."
Crowley has since returned to Ireland AM.
