Hallmark to make more than 30 new Christmas movies this year

We’re at that time of year when we can still just about remember Christmas 2017 but are so far away from this year’s festivities that we feel it’s safe to talk about it without triggering the ‘It’s too early!’ camp. Well, at the risk of just that, our favourite channel for Christmas movies – Hallmark, duh! – has revealed that it will be releasing 34 new original Christmas movies this year and we couldn’t be happier about it. Yes, according to reports in Entertainment Weekly, the channel plans to air a record-breaking 34 new festive movies over the holiday period but will be kicking off uncomfortably early. *Triggers the 'It's too early!' camp.  The ‘Countdown to Christmas’ apparently starts for Hallmark on October 27, when they air the first of their Christmas offerings. Yes, it’s a smidge early for most, but we might make an exception to enjoy all that cheesy goodness. And it’s not just Hallmark who are upping the ante when it comes to their holiday releases. Lifetime will be airing 14 new festive films and we can only imagine that Netflix will be adding more to their site after the success of their originals last year.
