'It was so hard': Gogglebox's Malone family's dog Frank has died

One of Gogglebox‘s most popular pets has died.

Frank, one of the adorable dogs owned by the Malone family from Manchester, was put down, son Shaun Malone revealed.

Taking to Instagram, he shared an adorable photo of himself and his pet snuggled up on the couch.

He said that Frank had been a member of the family for the past 11 years and that it was “the best thing to do.”

“After 11 years with the family it was so hard but best thing to do for him we’ve had to put my dog frank to sleep,” he wrote.

“R.I.P frankie.”

The Malone clan are famous dog fanatic and also own three other mutts – Dave, Lucy and Izzie.

22-year-old Shaun is a coach for Manchester United and previously starred as Michael in Billy Elliot in London’s West End.

He also survived a rare but life-threatening brain condition as a teenager.

He contracted a simple sinus infection which spread to his brain and required six operations. His mum and dad Julie and Tom were told that he had just a ten per cent chance of survival but he pulled through.
