There will be plenty of nominees flying the flag for Ireland when the ceremony begins tonight.
Saoirse Ronan is up for the Best Actress award for her role in Lady Bird.
Martin McDonagh is nominated in the Best Original Screenplay category for the movie, Three Billboards Outside Ebbing Missouri - which is up for a total of seven awards, including Best Picture.
Daniel Day Lewis earned a nomination in the Best Actor category for his role in Phantom Thread, his final acting role before retirement.
Meanwhile, Irish animation studio Cartoon Saloon got the nod in the Best Animated Feature category for their film, The Breadwinner.
And Consolata Boyle was nominated for Best Costume Design in the film Victoria & Abdul.
After he was praised for his hosting last year, chat show host Jimmy Kimmel will be the emcee of the night for the second year running.
To make things a little bit easier for anyone hoping to stay up and watch the ceremony, Sky have set up a dedicated channel called Sky Cinema Oscars and will be broadcasting the ceremony live.
But the ceremony can also be watched live using a NOW TV Cinema pass - which is free for the first 14 days, then €12 a month afterwards.
And if you're just staying up to watch the red carpet, E! will be streaming the arrivals from their website before the actual show starts.Explore more on these topics:
