Here’s why everybody’s been talking about Sex Education on Netflix

The Brits have done it again.

When it comes to content that people are going to be talking about for the next seven years or so, Netflix have been absolutely killing it as of late.

If audiences aren’t (incorrectly) fancying Joe from You despite all of Penn Badgley’s protestations, they’re doing the Bird Box challenge and getting full on knocked down in traffic.

The power of entertainment.

But if you’ve had about enough of creepy stalkers and Sandra Bullock on a river, never fear because there’s another bangin’ show on the streaming service that you’ll probably want to check out.

Or have already checked out, whichever.

Starring Asa Butterfield, Emma Backey, and the iconic Gillian Anderson, Sex Education follows the under experienced Otis as he takes it upon himself to provide his fellow schoolmates with a load of information about sex.

And in fairness to him, seeing as his mam is an actual sex therapist, he does actually know what he’s talking about.

Unlike traditional sex ed that most of us were subjected to within the confines of our actively Catholic secondary schools, Otis’s take is a lot more inclusive, positive, and generally helpful.

It’s also heartwarming and genuinely gas too so, you know, informative and entertaining. What more could you want?

The show tackles everything from LGBT issues to consent to not knowing what the fuck you’re supposed to do with yourself at any age because honestly, who among us hasn’t been a total mess when it comes to the ride at least once in our lives?

It also provides a mature exploration of things like abortion, drag, and healthy male friendships, all the while giving us a lead that looks so like a young Margot Robbie you’d almost be forgiven for thinking they hadn’t some how hired her for the role anyway.

Essentially, Sex Education brilliant and a load of people are already wondering when in the name of God a second season is going to drop onto our screens.

Netflix have yet to confirm or deny whether their will be more episodes coming our way, but we can only hope that there’ll be a lot more Gillian Anderson (and the rest of them) landing onto our laptops and tablets some time later this year.

Or 2020, whenever.

Just giz it.
