The above-bar apartment belonging to Ted Mobsy in How I Met Your Mother, would realistically fetch $3,000 per month. There’s no actual location disclosed in the show but it’s widely understood that the apartment is on the Upper West Side.
The gang’s local watering hole is based on McGee’s pub with is based on West 55th Street. In April, a one-bedroom, one bathroom apartment at that address rented for about $2,200. Citi Habitats says average rent for a West Side two-bedroom is $2,875.
The most expensive rental would have been the plush pad shared by Will and Grace. It’s desirable Riverside Drive location, paired with its outdoor area and enviable spacious interior would earn it’s landlord $6,750 per month.
So yeah, as you prepare your noodles in your tiny kitchen wondering why you don't reside in an airy loft, just remember, it's not real life.
But if you did have $6,750 (€5919) to spend on rent you could get this incredible two-bed in The Marker.
