The fifteen celebrities taking part in this year’s Strictly Come Dancing have been announced.
Although we had an idea of some of the famous faces taking to the dancefloor, now the full-line up in all its glory is here.
Our very own Laura Whitmore will be strutting her stuff and in a major blast from the past, Will Young, will join her.
Here’s the line-up in full:
Tameka Empson
Tameka is a major hit with Eastenders viewers in her role as Kim Fox-Hubbard on the soap.
Lesley Joseph
Lesley is best-known for her role as Dorien Green in Birds of a Feather, a sitcom that aired on BBC from 1989 to 1998.
Greg Rutherford
Greg is a track and field athlete who’s just returned home from Rio de Janeiro, having won bronze at the Summer Olympics.
Daisy Lowe
Daisy, who’s modelled for Chanel, is going to give dancing a go. I interviewed her last year (you can check it out here) and she was a pure dote, here’s hoping she goes far.
Louise Redknapp
Louise rose to fame as a member of 90s girl band Eternal and has since embarked on a solo career, while also taking on a number of TV projects.
Danny Mac
Danny played Dodger on Hollyoaks for four years and I imagine his fans will be happy to see him back on screen.
Ed Balls
Politician Ed is a former Labour MP and also served as the UK Shadow Chancellor from 2011 -2015.
Claudia Fragapane
Claudia is a talented gymnast, who competed on Team GB at the Rio Olympics. She’s only 18 and has had a majorly impressive career to date.
Melvin Odoom
X Factor viewers will recognise Melvin for his role co-presenting the Xtra Factor alongside Rochelle Humes. He’s also a radio DJ on Kiss FM.
Naga Munchetty
BBC Breakfast host Naga has been on the show since 2009 and Strictly is a new challenge for the experienced journalist and reporter.
Ore Oduba
Ore is a BBC sports presenter and interesting fact, last year, he helped raise over £1 million for Sports Relief, when he took on the Hell on High Seas challenge.
Anastacia
Songstress Anastacia has had some major hits in her time (Left Outside Alone is a tune) and she’s sure to be a fun contestant.
Robert (Judge) Rinder
Robert, aka Judge Rinder, has a strong following from his up-front reality TV show, Judge Rinder.
Laura Whitmore
Laura has carved out an impressive TV career for herself. The Bray native was a regular on MTV for a number of years, co-presents I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here and has also fronted BATFAs coverage.
Will Young
Will Young and Gareth Gates were neck to neck for the Pop Idol final in 2002 and I can still hear Evergreen (and probably know all the words too, morto).
