It’s been almost 36 hours since the news broke and we still can’t get our heads around why Sherif was kicked off Love Island.
It was announced yesterday morning that the 20-year-old had been removed from the villa for breaking a show rule.
ITV didn’t make clear what exactly he had done, but now a show source has shed some light on the drama.
The insider said that Sherif had acted withdrawn in the villa and that he tried to avoid getting involved in the show.
“He’s been refusing to get up and take part in chats with the others and said he didn’t like any of them,” the source told The Sun.
“When producers told Islanders they have to get ready to film a challenge, Sherif was deliberately spending ages in the shower.
“He said he couldn’t be bothered.”
For his part, Sherif has also been vague about the reason for his early departure.
He issued a formal statement yesterday, saying he had made a “silly mistake” due to poor judgement.
In an update today, he told Instagram followers that he was grateful for their support.
“I appreciate you all and hope I provided some good, positive moments during my time on Love Island and for anyone wondering, I’m all good.”
