The actress said it was a “dream come true”.

Hilary Swank has secretly tied the knot with Phillip Schneider in a woodland ceremony near her home in California.

The 44-year-old actress and the entrepreneur celebrated their vows at the Santa Lucia Preserve in Carmel two years after they became engaged.

Now sharing pictures of her special day, Hilary is also sharing some of the details that went into making her “dream come true”.

“It’s a stunning private community surrounded by 20,000 acres of conservancy and an intimate redwood grove populated with trees that are over 800 years old,” she told Vogue of the stunning venue.

“It was timeless. There is just no other way to describe it.

“I was overwhelmed with such gratitude and thanks to be marrying the man of my dreams and to see all the people we love together in the middle of such a profound setting.”

Hilary looked simply stunning on the day in a white lace and embroidered dress by Elie Saab Couture and a long embroidered veil.

The dress is said to have taken seven people 150 hours to create – 70 of those focussed exclusively on the intricate embroidery.

Serving as maid of honour was fellow actress Mariska Hargitay who is a longtime friend of Hilary’s.

As for the afters, Hilary and Phillip threw an almighty dance party in a 100-year-old rustic barn, with the newly married pair even doing their best Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers tap routine for guests.

“Everyone was having so much fun and didn’t want the party to end, so we actually had to start dancing to wireless headphones into the wee hours of the next day, so the distant neighbours wouldn’t be kept up by the sound system.”

This is Hilary’s second marriage, after her divorce from director Chad Lowe back in 2007.
